Kumbh 2019

  Kumbh Mela an assemblage or mass gathering of Hindu Pilgrims to bathe in the Holy  River . Millions are expected to attend the event from all over the world . That is why , Kumbh Mela at Prayag Raj is a world largest gathering on the Earth . 

  

For the Shahi (Royal) bath there are different dates in the Prayag Ardh Kumbh Mela , on these dates more than 50 millions participate and the entire area turned into a mini world . 

            

  Different peoples visit here for the different purpose like Sadhus and the Pilgrims come to free themselves from the cycle of life and death , well as some come with religious missions and few come with commercial objectives .

  

The vibes will range , from the chanting prayers of Sadhus , smell of Joss Sticks , to the mass gathering of people in and around the area . 

              

The special attractions at Prayag Raj Kumbh Mela are as follows :-

- SHAHI SNAN -

The Shahi Snan or the Royal Bath or the Rajyogi Snan is the holy bath that is taken by the Saints of different Akharas (religious groups) before any Pilgrims . One of the ritual of this bath is the river in which bath in taken is the mixture of three holy rivers that is Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati which is called as Triveni Sangam . The devotees wake up as early as 3.am to que up to take their morning bath and wait until the Sadhus take their dip .

- Akharas and Sadhus - 

           

Akhara is the place of meeting for the religious groups , it is here that the Sadhus carry out the religious practice . Most of the Sadhus here are the followers of Shiva and Vishnu .

 Sadhus and saints are the most integral part of Kumbh Mela which increases the holiness of Kumbh Mela . The different groups of Baba's such as Nagas , Kalpvasis , etc are seen .

- Satsungs -  

 One of the most important aspects of the Kumbh Mela , devotees travel long distances only to attend this event . The devotees gather together and sit for long durations to listen to the Sadhus who says about Hinduisms and Spiritualism as these Saints have a good knowledge of religions .

- Late night Experience -

The crowded life in a  Mela at night gives the way to the serenity of silence and a show of lights . The city of Prayag Raj never sleeps at night at the time of Kumbh Mela . Day time can be crowded but the beautiful city view from the Triveni Gath is so pleasant that you would not want to miss it .

- Langars and Prasad - 

You would not want to miss the mouth watering langars (communal meals)

And the Prasads (sacred offerings) that are given to the devotees as well as to the Sadhus during the Mela . Though it is good idea of tasting the food but if you have not planned you can just visit and take some pictures of peoples and food.

Besides all these special attractions at Prayag Ardh Kumbh Mela , the best things which is the cleanliness all over the Mela
